Rumors had been flourishing around the country such as the companys creation as early as 1848 under the name of Meyer Freres. Did it really matter? And so Picard & Cie continued forward with its head held high and its brand name fortified to an even higher level. After the merger of new trademarks and designs, Picard & Cie set forth with an updated image and brand. By 1915, the company, now known as Fabrique Germinal - Picard & Cie began a campaign producing advertisements that claimed the creation of The Most Advantageous of Repeating Watches. In fact by this point, the company was producing and selling all sorts of innovative timepieces including some of the first wristwatches, ultra-flat pocket watches, and chronographs.Also true pioneers of sports watches in the early 20th century, Picard & Cie created a great deal of specialty timepieces for its driver, aviator, engineer, and doctor consumers.
